Just yesterday morning, 12 vehicles were involved in a crash caused by a lorry’s technical failure, leaving one person dead and six others injured.
The accident occurred around 7:30 am on August 23 at KM129.9 of the southbound PLUS Highway.
According to The Sun, Muar police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz confirmed receiving the accident report, which involved six lorries, five cars, and one van.

“The smoke obstructed the sight and visibility of other drivers, which led to a chain collision among vehicles travelling on the road,” he said.

Tragically, a 39-year-old lorry driver suffered fatal internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Six other drivers sustained minor injuries, while the remaining drivers and passengers escaped unharmed.
Police confirmed that the lorry driver, aged 48, tested negative for illegal substances in a mandatory urine screening. The case is now being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving.
