10 teens were charged at the Magistrate Court today for raping a 13-year-old girl last month.
The victim was at the Taiping Lake Gardens with another female friend when two other teenagers picked them up on motorcycles at around 11am. They were allegedly skipping school.
They took both girls to one of their homes in Kamunting and there, the victim was raped by 2 teenagers and a friend. She was again sexually assaulted on 2 other occasions!
No plea was recorded when their charges were read out to them. It was a closed door proceeding as they were still considered juveniles (15 to 17 year olds).
According to Astro Awani, police prosecuting officer Inspector Siti Nor Rasyidah M. Nadzri said one of the accused is facing 3 charges, 2 others are facing 2 charges, and the remaining 7 teens 1 charge.
The teens may face 10 to 30 years of imprisonment and caning.
“Those with one charge are allowed to be bailed at RM3,500 with one surety while the accused with two and three charges are allowed to be bailed at RM4,000 and RM600 respectively.
“The accused were also ordered to not meet or disturb the victim throughout the court trials,” she said.
