Who doesn’t love a good ol’ getaway? Everyone knows that awesome feeling when your flight, accommodation and vacay buddies have all been sorted after months of planning (and saving moolah). Phew!

Now all you gotta do is sit back, relax and anticipate the day you’ll be boarding that plane. After all, good things come to those who wait. If you love taking time off to travel, then you’ve probably been through these moments on repeat way too many times!

1. The countdown

It’s T-minus one week to your vacation, and you begin counting down the days as you try not to get overly excited ’cause you’re tryna stay focused at work.

One day prior, you can’t hold it in anymore and switch on your ‘Out of Office’ email at 6pm SHARP.

2. Heading to the airport

Before booking your Grab/Uber/taxi/KLIA Express transportation to the airport, you make a mental checklist so as to not forget the most important thing for flying: your passport. Otherwise, you better hurry home to get it!

3. Getting to your gate in time

Some may reach 3 hours before departure just to be safe, while others prefer living life on the edge and would only get there about half an hour before take-off. Which side are you on?

4. Trying to be comfy in-flight

That’s it, you’re currently en route and just hours away from paradise. *squeals* You silently pray for a safe flight sans turbulence and annoying passengers that may potentially disrupt your compact comfort zone.

5. Touching down at your destination

Woohoo! Your vacay mode is officially ON! Nothing beats the feeling of that first gush of wind or sea breeze against your pre-holiday-sleep-deprived face the moment the airport doors open as you leave your troubles behind (temporarily).

6. Savouring your vacay days

That’s right, you waste no time and enjoy every single second you breathe and blink on this new unexplored land, whether it’s an exotic tropical island or cool nature escape in the mountains.

7. Realising you have to return

Uh-oh. Your holiday is drawing to an end soon and you obviously wished you had planned a longer break. You also contemplate burning your return ticket and buying a new one sometime next week or something. But then you also realise you’re broke AF.

8. Not wanting to pack and check out

Why must holidays come to an end? 🙁 At this stage, you reluctantly pack your vacay gears and lament at the fact that your trip was waaay too short and promise yourself that you’ll plan a longer, more fulfilling vacation in the future.

9. Arriving home

That moment when you set foot back on our tanah air and it starts to sink in that your vacay of the year is finally over. Boohoo.

10. Suffering post-vacay blues back at work

Honestly, it feels as though you’ve never left! Meanwhile, it’s time to post an endless series of #throwback holiday snaps on your Instagram feed as you reminisce the fun, happy times – well, until your next vacation that is!

Despite the roller coaster of emotions, we’re sure you’ll do it all over again!
