Move over Pdf or Word Document resumes, TikTok resumes are the new requirements now!
One of the most popular Social Media platforms in the world currently, TikTok is set to launch a new tool for brands and companies to recruit employees. As reported by Axios, TikTok is already testing out the tool in a pilot programme that was designed to help people find jobs on the platform and connecting them with companies that are hiring.
Furthermore, the new tool is also meant to help out brands to use TikTok as a recruitment channel. Woah!
Back in March, TikTok seemed to give out hints regarding the expansion that the company is looking to make after a Top TikTok executive posted on LinkedIn about a The Washington Post detailing how Gen Z-ers have been using TikTok to share career advice. The LinkedIn post said that the article has inspired TikTok executives to try and bolster their platform for job seekers.
As for the recruitment tool itself, it is currently in the midst of trial with a beta group of companies. TikTok sources have told Axios that several big brands have been asked about participating, including major sports leagues.
Furthermore, the recruitment tool itself won’t be integrated within TikTok itself, but would be a separate web page accessible via the app. This web page is where brands and companies can post jobs, primarily entry-level listings.
The idea is for jobseekers to send out a TikTok video resume similar to an ‘elevator pitch’ to the companies regarding why they should be hired. Users can also post their resume videos to their TikTok profiles to help publicise the new service to potential employers.
What do you guys think of this new service by TikTok? Would you be recording a TikTok video resume soon? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
