From Nasi Lemak burgers to salted egg covered chips, modern twists today come in the form of reframing a familiar and traditional idea.
As the Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner, mooncake specialists Casahana have been keeping up with the times by devising a little something called Brown Sugar Tea Au Lait mooncake.
Going a level up from Nasi Lemak inspired mooncakes of yesteryears, this year’s mooncake features gooey brown sugar lava and tapioca pearls as the centre filling of the mooncake, while it is enclosed with thick and creamy milk tea paste!
With bubble tea-inspired drawings etched on the cake, this modern twist will surely be the talk of the town come Moon Festival.
To give you an idea of what it would look like, allow us to share with some images we’ve managed to find on social media.
Tempted to try it out? According to Star2, the mooncake creation is available on sale at Casahana outlets all over the country. Why don’t you check it out?
