Just 3 days ago, a multi-vehicle accident on the northbound lane of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) tragically claimed 7 lives caused by a trailer truck’s tyre coming off.
While the police are still looking into that incident, another terrible crash happened late last night at 12:11 a.m. on Jalan Pontian, Johor, involving a heavy vehicle.
The crash involved a sedan and a 10-tonne lorry
Berita Harian reported that 2 men were killed, and 1 survived a crash involving a car and a lorry near the Taman Desa Skudai roundabout.
Skudai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Operations Commander Suraini Adnan said that after receiving the report about the incident, personnel and fire engines were sent to the scene.
“In response, we sent 7 personnel and 2 fire engines. When we arrived, we found that the crash involved a sedan and a 10-tonne lorry,” he explained.
The lorry driver survived without any injuries
Due to the collision, a 43-year-old man was trapped inside the car and pronounced dead at the scene, and another 43-year-old man was also confirmed dead, but he was not trapped in the car.
Suraini added that the team used special equipment to extricate the trapped victim before handing him over to the police and ambulance for further action.
The lorry driver, a 36-year-old man, reportedly survived without serious injuries.
