Today is the Parliament’s Opening Ceremony today where we saw the opening of the meeting for the first time in the third term of the 14th Parliament.

Our YDP Agong Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had some reminders for the Parliament members today. One of it was that he reminded the members that the political downfall which happened in our country last February should NOT continue without an end.

Agong

“Don’t drag the country into a political turmoil while we’re still facing Covid-19. Parliament members should display maturity in their politics.”

He added that a difference in opinion shouldn’t lead to hurling insults and enmity. This was probably in reference to last week when a video of UMNO and PH politicians were yelling and calling each other names during the Malacca State Assembly went viral.

In terms of  Movement Control Order, the Agong urged that the government find ways to help companies and businesses that were most affected by it.  Not only that, efforts to recover our tourism sector that was one of the most hit should be continued.

What do you think of this statement by the Agong? Let us know in the comments section!
