A 45-year-old Bangladeshi grocery store supervisor in Shah Alam was slashed to death by one of his employees on Friday (February 14).
Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd. Iqbal Ibrahim said that his department received a call about the stabbing incident at 8:26 am and an examination found that the victim died from injuries to the head, body, and hands, reported Astro Awani.
The said employee is also a Bangladeshi and the dispute happened due to late salary payment.
“Investigations found that there was a verbal argument regarding the delay in salary payments,” he shared.
“The situation became increasingly uncontrollable when a struggle broke out and the victim was attacked and slashed repeatedly with a meat cleaver,” Iqbal said.
Five Bangladeshi nationals, including two women and the main suspect, aged 33 to 53, were arrested by the police at 1:49 pm on the same day. Investigations show no previous criminal records, while urine screening tests were negative for drug abuse.
“All suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist in investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.”
The matter took place at Section 7 in Shah Alam, and police urged those with information to come forward and aid in the investigation.
