An attempt to escape a stalled lift turned into tragedy when an Indonesian woman fell to her death, after failing to clear a gap between the lift and the floor.

The incident, which was caught on a cctv footage saw the woman attempting to leave the elevator, only to fall into a gap and was found dead days after the incident.

Here is a footage of the incident. Viewer discretion is advised.

According to an eyewitness, the woman just got back from sending her nephew to Medan airport.

“On her way home, she received a call from her nephew stating that some documents were not in line with what they required.”

Having made her way back from home to the airport, the lift she took stalled.

“Panicking, the woman attempted to leave the elevator when the lift’s doors were opened. Failing to judge the gap, she ultimately fell.”

The nephew, was confused, when the woman did not appear at the intended time. It was only a few days later, did they found out that the woman died and was found at the bottom of the elevator shaft.

Let’s hope that the authorities will run a full investigation on this, and probably attempt to educate the crowd on elevator safety.
