In a recent video shared by @anabelle_co, an expat mom living in Malaysia, she described an unusual encounter she had while walking with her family.
In the video, Anabelle explained that while strolling through the Mont Kiara area, she walked behind her family because she was preoccupied with her phone.
“Have you seen this guy before?”
Anabelle went on to describe how, as she lagged behind, she found herself alone on a stretch of the street when a random man suddenly approached her, asking for something.
She mentioned that she chose not to engage with him, recalling that she had seen him the previous week holding a sign and seemingly asking for something from someone in a parked car.
“I’m concerned about people like this, especially since we have kids who walk alone to Kiara 163,” she said.
“Please be aware”
Anabelle also described the man as having good spoken English. When he approached her, she politely apologised and continued on her way.
She also expressed her concern that the man might take advantage of elderly people or young children who are frequently seen walking along Jalan Kiara.
She shared the video to raise awareness and alert others in the area to stay vigilant.
“Just sharing this with the Mont Kiara community for those who walk around here or have kids walking alone,” she added.
Netizens who claimed to have encountered the man before reported that he would approach them and display an “injured” hand to solicit money.
Netizens began flooding the comment section, with many sharing their own encounters with the unknown man.
This video has been edited to protect the individual’s identity due to the unconfirmed nature of the situation.
