FamilyMart Malaysia introduces the new Taro Coconut sofuto! This blend of nutty Taro infused with creamy Coconut Milk is said to taste like the iconic Bubur chacha dessert in an ice cream form.

As an ice cream and taro lover, of course, I had to try it out. The sofuto costs RM3.90, and comes in both cone and cup. FamilyMart is also having a late-night deal promotion where you can get the sofuto cone for only RM1.99 from 9pm to 1am, until 8 August 2023.

I got the Taro Coconut Sofuto in a cup, and its colour actually looks slightly darker compared to the advertised picture. I’ve seen comments online saying that it tastes more coconutty, but that’s not the case!

I fell in love after only a few bites, it is fragrant and sweet. The coconut taste does not overtake the taro taste. I personally think anyone who likes taro-flavoured dessert would enjoy it.

Besides sofuto, FamilyMart also introduced the Taro Coconut milkshake, which is an alternative for those who prefer beverages.
