A viral video has been circulating on social media, sparking the ire of Malaysians as it showcases a vehicle driving against traffic and refusing to give way to a car on the correct side of the road.

The two vehicles ended up in a deadlock before the car with the right of way decided to concede. What makes this entire situation worse is that there was a second car driving against traffic right behind the first.

A driver with the right of way conceded to a vehicle driving against traffic

Guang Ming Daily took to their Facebook page to share dashcam footage from the vehicle driving on the correct side of the road.

In the video, the driver turns a junction into the right lane of a two-lane one-way road and immediately comes across a car blocking the lane as it was driving against traffic. The dashcam owner then started to reverse, which encouraged the wrong-way driver to keep moving forward.

The dashcam owner then stopped reversing for the traffic offender, and a motorcyclist on the side of the road can be seen berating the wrong-way driver.

Eventually, the traffic offender reversed a little bit, and the dashcam owner used the left lane to overtake it. However, it was then revealed that there was ANOTHER car driving against traffic, right behind the first one.

Why move for them?

Malaysians were left angered by the video as they believed the car driving against traffic should have given way to the vehicle with the dashcam, and weren’t too pleased that the dashcam owner was reversing for the car driving against traffic.

“I wouldn’t reverse. I’d stop completely. If the other driver doesn’t back up, I’d call the traffic police.”

“Don’t reverse. Wait until a long line forms behind you, and someone will teach them a lesson.”

“Why did you reverse?”

“If it were me, I wouldn’t reverse. I’d call the police immediately.”

What would you do if a car driving against traffic refuses to give way? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
