The murder of a 6-year-old child with autism, Zayn Rayyan, was a case that rocked the nation.
In the latest update, the police have said that they are seeking help from the International Police (Interpol) to review some information and evidence that were collected during the investigations.
The Selangor police chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said:
“We have asked for help from Interpol regarding its database where we have some information although it is not conclusive we need more information from its database.”
The police have recorded 225 conversations with the residents there and 248 DNA samples were taken.
The chief added that the forensic team is now focused on a “specific unit in a specific block of the apartment.” However, the investigations team is still looking for the place where the murder was committed.
12 people were detained, but investigations showed that they had nothing to do with the murder, reported BERNAMA.
Even though the police have limited evidence as the primary crime scene is still unknown, the Selangor Police Chief said they will not give up.
“Investigations are still being carried out every day in the area, we will not give up hope, we will continue until the perpetrator is arrested, maybe not now but we are confident that this criminal will be caught.”
We hope that the perpetrator will be found soon.
