Looks like we’ll be getting our first 5G network here pretty soon!
According to NST, Maxis has now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the deployment of the first 5G network in Malaysia at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona earlier on Monday (25 February).
Both companies will be working together to start a full-fledged 5G trial with end-to-end systems and services, as established in the MoU.
Maxis chief executive officer-designate Gokhan Ogut stated that the company has planned the 5G journey for a long time and is already actively focusing on its live trials, investments, as well as evolving the network infrastructure to be ready for a future where smart solutions would be part of everyday life. Nice! Ogut added,
“We are pleased to be working with long-term partner Huawei on our 5G trials and to be a pioneer in bringing the latest technologies to Malaysia once again.”
“At Maxis, we have been maintaining our network leadership in terms of speed, quality, and performance in Malaysia, and we look forward to delivering the best 5G innovation for both consumers and businesses for the future.”
