Food hygiene not only involves the cleanliness of ingredients but also the cleanliness of the utensils used to make the food.

One roadside stall, allegedly run by foreigners, is now coming under fire after they were caught on camera using drain water to wash their wok.

The #UpdateInfo X page recently shared the video, where a Malaysian woman could be heard confronting the stall worker for his dirty act. However, the location of the stall was not disclosed.

#UpdateInfo wrote, “Contributors to law enforcement’s economy. How can anyone bother them?”

In the video, the stall worker could be seen washing a wok in a drain, using the drain water, without noticing that the Malaysian woman was recording him.

He only looked up and noticed the woman when she spoke up.

“These Roti Canai sellers wash their wok using drain water. So, it’s very dirty. They wash their woks, these Roti Canai sellers here, they wash it with drain water,” she said.

Nevertheless, the stall worker completely ignored her and walked away with the wok.

Malaysians have since taken to the post to share their disappointment over this matter.

Drain 5

“Malaysia… what is happening to my country?”

Drain 7

“Malaysia has gotten worse in the chapter of allowing foreigners to control businesses. If locals want to do business, (the authorities) will ask for everything from pigs to elephants. They’ll close their eyes if outsiders are doing business.”

Drain 8

“It’s embarassing that things like these are happening in our country, even though the perpetrators are not our people!”
