The footage of a rat, shopping at a supermarket in Luyang, Kota Kinabalu went viral on social media, yesterday.
Taken by netizen, @datuazri, he mentioned that a report has been made to the management, and that the video was merely uploaded to spread awareness on the incident.
“I urge the public to exercise caution when buying groceries. I posted this video not to defame the establishment, but to spread awareness that your food may be contaminated.”
Netizens commenting on the tweet, shared their agreement at the dangers of rodent-contaminated items.
“Be wary of leptospirosis.”
“I can’t believe that the rat is as big as a cat.”
Lets hope that the authorities and the supermarket management will do something about this and ensure hygienic practices are met and complied to in the near future.
