A recent post is going viral, showing the busy streets of Kuala Lumpur. On September 18th, dashcam footage revealed an accident involving a white Mercedes and a police officer on a motorcycle.
As vehicles took off when the traffic lights turned green, the Mercedes made a sudden right turn allegedly without noticing an oncoming motorcyclist, leading to a collision that sent the rider falling to the ground.
The driver decided to drive off
What caught the attention of netizens was the fact that the rider involved in the accident wasn’t just any ordinary motorcyclist. He was, in fact, a police officer.
Instead of stopping to help or see if the officer was okay, the Mercedes driver was seen driving away in a hurry.
As the driver sped away, the dashcam footage captured the driver’s reckless behaviour, with the driver switching lanes repeatedly to overtake other cars probably in a desperate attempt to avoid getting caught.
Netizens flooded the comment section, and let’s just say they weren’t having it.
“Hopefully, the situation will be resolved quickly. It’s important to stay calm and alert when facing challenges like this. Wishing for a swift resolution to the issue.”
“Dashcam owner, please make a report. You can see the license plate of that white car. This is a hit-and-run case. The police officer who was hit might not have a camera on his helmet, and of course, there’s no bodycam. If the dashcam owner files a report, it could help the police track down that white car.”
“Look at the way that car is driving, it seems to drive in fear. I bet the driver is carrying something illegal in the car.”
“This is the kind that doesn’t know the traffic rules. I bet the person driving the car isn’t even the owner.”
