In recent times, rempit culture has become a growing concern among Malaysians due to their increasingly disruptive behaviour, disregard for safety, and general nuisance to the public.

This video is no exception. Filmed near the Alor Setar exit in Kedah, a group of rempits nearly collided with another road user. The incident, captured on video, served as evidence for the police to set up a roadblock and apprehend the reckless riders.

The video begins with a road user attempting to exit the highway when a rider suddenly swerves into his path, narrowly avoiding a collision.

In the footage, the rider blatantly disregards traffic laws and comes dangerously close to the vehicle, prompting a nearby police officer to intervene and question those involved.

After checking on their well-being, the officer spoke with the couple involved.

“They were hanging around at the exit. My fiancé nearly hit one of them. Luckily, they missed us.”

The officer then responded:

“Did they hit you? If yes, you need to make a report. Did you catch them on video? If yes, post it… on Facebook, anywhere.”

Shortly after the incident, the video owners shared that the police had set up a roadblock, causing the rempits to flee.

“You can see them leaving the Pendang–Alor Setar highway, where they usually race. They even rode against traffic to avoid the roadblock.”
