In a hit-and-run incident that happened on the MRR2 Melawati highway, a Proton Persona changed lanes abruptly, causing a motorcyclist passing by to be knocked to the ground.

In a Facebook video circulating on social media, a grey Proton Persona can be seen driving along the fast lane. A few seconds later, a motorcycle zooms by and tries to squeeze between cars on the right and middle lanes.

Just as the motorcycle rides up beside the Persona, the car makes a sharp turn to the left and knocks the motorcyclist off his bike. He falls to the ground right in front of another car that misses running over him by a split second.

The motorcyclist skids on the road together with his bike to the left lane as the Persona drives off. The motorcyclist can then be seen picking himself up from the ground as a car stops by, probably to help him.

Here’s the video:

Netizens in the comment section blamed the motorcyclist for riding in the fast lane while others blamed the Persona driver for being on the phone. Others said the Persona driver did it on purpose.

“It looks more like an attempt to murder. Persona moved towards left on purpose at the right time although it’s impossible to do a turn with the BMW in the middle lane. Also the turn speed was unusual and doesn’t look like it missed a junction. Also note the speed off moment too,” one netizen commented.

“It seems that the Persona intentionally knocked the motorcycle,” another said.

We hope the motorcyclist is okay and that he did not sustain any serious injuries.
