Living in Southeast Asia, we are almost certain to experience another country’s culture and offerings.
Taking to TikTok, this netizen shared his experience attending a Malay wedding in Krabi, Thailand.
“There is one culture that I look forward to the most when I am in Krabi attending their wedding ceremony,” said the user.
“Their style of kenduri is likened to those that we have in the old days. Interestingly, on our way to the festivities of the day, we are greeted with village folk peddling their goods along the roadside.”
“Unlike in Malaysia, they still serve you at the tables compared to our usual buffet-style arrangements. Extra rice is passed out in plastic bags, and everyone (apart from me) uses spoons to eat,” they added.
“They also receive ‘ang-pows’ for the bride and groom. Here, they give out the envelopes that you fill your money into, and drop it in a box near the wedding couple.”
