Although it seems that our former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s conviction is here to stay, there appears to be a vast array of people who are still in support of him including UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

On Tuesday, August 16, the former Prime Minister arrived at the Federal Court for an application to produce new evidence in his final appeal, which was eventually rejected. However, it appears that he still has a large following because many of them showed there to express their gratitude and to pray for him.

In a video circulating on social media, a huge group of Najib’s supporters could be seen welcoming him to the Federal Court as they all offered prayers, with some even crying over his conviction.

Meanwhile, chants of ‘Hidup Najib’ could also be heard in the background.

“How much were you paid?”

The video has gone viral on social media where netizens shared their thoughts and amusement over the clip. A few Malaysians accused the supporters of being paid and wondered how much for.

“Worth the RM50,” said a user. Another commented, “One person gets RM100.”

Another commented, “(If you’re) louder then maybe you’d get (paid) more.”

Meanwhile, a couple of users made fun of how the supporters might as well follow him to Sungai Buloh prison because that’s where he will end up soon.

On the other hand, some users said that it sounded like more of a funeral due to the actions of the supporters.

“Who died?”

“The makcik is such a drama queen, even if her husband were to die she wouldn’t be weeping like this,” said another user.
