We often overlook and do not give enough credit or appreciate our garbage collectors and food delivery riders. Our garbage collectors are essential in helping to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our surroundings.
Recently a TikTok video showed why it is important for us to thank and appreciate these sanitation workers.
TikTok user @denik923 recently uploaded a video where a couple was seen teaching their toddler to show appreciation to sanitary workers.
As the garbage truck pulled up infront of their house, the toddler accompanied by his parents, strolled to the front of the house to hand several drink packets to the worker.
The worker was all in smiles as the toddler approached him with the drink packet in hand.
The parents of the toddler said, “give it to the uncle”, as they guided the toddler towards him.
After handing the garbage collector the drink packets, the boy’s father also encouraged the toddler to say thank you and to wave goodbye at the worker before going back inside.
Netizens Full Of Praise
The video has amassed over 148,000 views and 11,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. In the comments section, netizens were full of praise of the parents for educating their child to be kind to the garbage worker.
Many also hope that other parents can learn and teach their children the same values.
One user said, “So good to see that you’re teaching your child to appreciate these workers who work so hard. Without them our surroundings would not be clean and well kept.”
One user asked if this was in the Temerloh Jaya area to which the poster confirmed it is. “The sanitation worker looks familiar. It’s always him that is picking up the garbage in this area. Well done.”
When children are taught to give and be respectful at an early age, they will undoubtedly grow up to respect people from all walks of life.
