National badminton legend Datuk Lee Chong Wei is well known to be a bit of a romantic as he often shares heartfelt posts on social media about his wife, Datin Wong Mew Choo.
Recently, Mew Choo was captured on camera tearing up while hearing her husband talk at a ceremony where Chong Wei was apparently sharing about some of the struggles and hardships he had to endure on the way to the top.
The video of Mew Choo tearing up at his speech has since been shared by Chong Wei himself via his social media platforms.
In the caption of his post, he wrote, “Someone took this video secretly and sent the clip to me. This is a video of her, when I was sharing about the lowest point of my career. I saw this video, instantly I crumbled and cried.”
“What else do I need in life when I have this girl? Thank you wifey. I’m just the luckiest guy in the world. Love you ten thousand years.”
He went on to wish all the lovely women around the world, a Happy International Women’s Day. Chong Wei even tagged the Instagram accounts of two of his children, Terrance and Kingston, and praised Terrance for knowing how to comfort his mother.
A wife’s love
The video has since gone viral and amassed plenty of views across various social media platforms. Netizens took to the comments section to praise Chong Wei for appreciating his wife. Some users commented that Mew Choo was crying because she’s been with him through every step of the way.
“She really loves you. The way she was crying shows how painful your and her journey in the sport that you love so much.”
“I think every woman is like this when it comes to the ones they love,” said another user.
