Parts of the country has been hit extremely hard by the recent flash floods. It has left plenty of Malaysians homeless as they have had to resort to seeking shelter at evacuation centres.
With thousands of people at relief centres, food and supplies are often limited as there is a lack of manpower and time for people to deliver supplies and food.
However, it seems that our food delivery riders have organised and united for a common cause, which is to help deliver food and supplies to various relief centres.
In a video shared by @thetoratora on TikTok, it seems that huge groups of Foodpanda and Grab delivery riders have united and offered to help send food to relief centres in Batu Pahat, Johor.
The first day (March 5) of their ‘Ride Amal’ programme took them to a temporary placement center (PPS) which was located at the Chinese Hwa Chan school in Parit Imam Batu Pahat.
Meanwhile, on the second day, the riders sent food to PPS Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Broleh in Batu Pahat.
In the video, it was stated that an eatery called ‘Bubur Kangkung’ in Parit Besar helped to prepare the meals for the flood victims which the riders delivered.
Praised for their efforts
The video has since gone viral on TikTok and currently sits on over 4,666 views. Plenty of Malaysians took to the comments section to praise the riders for their efforts.
“Rakyat helping the rakyat.”
“Thanks to all the riders who were involved. You all are awesome,” commented another user.
