Performing in front of an audience can be quite a daunting task for many as being in the spotlight may not sit well with them. So, it is understandable when individuals freeze up during a performance although it can be very embarrassing to look back on the experience.
This is especially true for children who are often put on stage for performances in pre-school, and although some love it when all eyes are on them, many others shy away from being the centre of attention.
In a video that went viral online recently, Lyra Jaz, a six-year-old from the Philippines, is seen performing on stage during her Festival of Talent performance under the kindergarten category in Pasig City, as posted by NextShark. However, what not many could tell was that she actually had stage fright, as she was performing her dance routine without any difficulty.
This was because her father, who was in the audience, had got up from his seat, made his way to the aisle and started dancing to the Hula in-sync with his daughter.
Rjay Tolentino, 35, knew his daughter was nervous on stage, so he danced the Polynesian routine together with her, moving his arms and swaying his hips in rhythmic movements to the music as his daughter watched him and followed along.
Because of her father’s encouragement, Lyra was able to perform incredibly well.
“I knew my girl had stage nerves, so I just tried to do everything I could to make her feel better,” the father of four said.

Lyra’s father can really dance, don’t you think? I’m sure they’d make a great father-daughter duo in the future!
