Coastal areas in Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Nerus and Dungu are currently hit with high tide and rough seas, causing erosions and debris to litter beaches in the area.
Here is a video showing just how bad things are in the East Coast.
As depositing debris obstructed traffic, the Terengganu Disaster Management Committee Secretariat Chief Lieutenant Colonel (PA) Che adam A Rahman said that enforcement personnel are now re-directing traffic and closing roads that are affected by the high tide.
He also adds that it is important for public members to not make the high tide a spectacle or look to document the dangerous situation by visiting affected areas.
“It is not safe to be around these affected areas. The public should refrain from becoming spectators to this dangerous situation.”
“The high tide phenomenon is expected to take place over a couple of days. We advise travellers to avoid the affected areas.”
Let’s exercise precaution and avoid incidents that may be fatal, shall we?
