During the weekend, a man was claimed to have gone missing after he went to Penang to meet a customer who was interested in buying his iPhone. He even video-called his fiancé to ask for help before his phone died.
Days later, the man, Haikal made it home safely and according to her aunt, he was found and rescued by a lorry driver.
Just today (October 9), PDRM has responded to the matter and shared what really happened behind Haikal’s “disappearance.”
“He wasn’t missing, he was in hiding”
According to a report by Kosmo, Haikal, who is 27, came forward and spilt the story at Shah Alam police station last night (October 8). Investigations have also shown that the victim is safe and nothing has happened, as claimed by his aunt earlier.
Police also said that Haikal was not missing.
“He was running away and trying to escape the debt collector,” police said.
Harian Metro also reported that Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid has confirmed that he received a report regarding the disappearance of the victim at the Pantai Police Station, IPD Brickfields, which was made by the man’s fiance.
Allaudeen reportedly said that the case was then referred to IPD Klang Selatan after the victim was spotted last meeting his customer at the GM Klang shopping centre.
