Victories and achievements are meant to be celebrated, with or without others. Recently, a kid in Sabah went viral for celebrating his victory after a badminton tournament alone, which gained the sympathy of many social media users.

The kid, Nubhan, had no idea that his lone celebration was meant for something bigger. Malaysian influencer, Adrian Edy made Nubhan’s day by giving him a set of sports attire and a brand new badminton racket, as shared on his Facebook post.

Adrian travelled to Tawau from Kota Kinabalu and met the humble Nubhan, who was shocked at the gifts, which included 2 shirts with his name on them.

“This is an expensive racket, right? It’s only meant for people who are professional badminton players,” Nubhan told Adrian.

Adrian gifted Nubhan a new set of sports attire because the kid had been wearing the same for 2 years, which looked old. Nubhan’s family members had nothing but fond words for Adrian. The gifts meant A LOT to them.

“Nubhan’s dad couldn’t afford to buy a new set of sports attire.”

Dato Lee Chong Wei & Olympics

Adrian took the time to have a chat with Nubhan and was happy to hear how far the kid sees himself. Nubhan said he has always wanted to be a professional badminton player in the future and guess who is Nubhan’s main source of inspiration?

It’s none other than the legendary Malaysian badminton player, Dato Lee Chong Wei.

Nubhan’s dreams, however, will not stop there. He has big goals to achieve.

“Nubhan told me that he wants to represent Malaysia in the Olympics in the future.”

Adrian reminded Nubhan to finish his studies and go after his dreams because the determined kid still has a long way to go.

“Remember, Nubhan, everything that you have, including these gifts, are not from me, but from God.”

We wish nothing but the best of luck for Nubhan in his journey and hopefully, we’ll see him on the screen someday representing Malaysia for something he does best – playing badminton.
