Some good moments are meant to be captured and highlighted. A Malaysian kid who recently won a medal in a badminton competition, and in an attempt to get his peers’ help for a photo, he realised that he was “alone” in his mission.

In a viral TikTok post by @acebadminton, the kid, known as Nuban is seen excitedly arranging his hampers, certificate, and medal at the center of a badminton court. Nuban then tried to get someone to help him in taking pictures, but no one could help him.

One of his friends was in the midst of the badminton game, which prompted Nuban to ask another person who happened to pass by the court.

Unfortunately, Nuban was once again rejected, but he didn’t give up for a picture to remember his achievement on that day. That was when the young soul decided to execute his plan on his own.

He took off his slippers and used 1 of them as a substitute for a phone stand. He put his device against the slipper and let the front camera do the work.

Mission accomplished! Nuban now has a photo of his victory (although it would’ve looked better if someone could help him with a couple of photos).

“The traits of a future champion”

Nuban’s effort gained much attention online. Many were touched to see how determined the kid was to get himself a picture, and some even expressed their intentions to get him some gifts.

Social media users were also touched to see his will to get what he wanted without relying on anyone, especially when everyone made it clear they couldn’t help.

“I’m impressed! He worked hard to make memories. He arranged his hampers, certificate, and rackets in the middle but no one wanted to help him. I wish you the best of luck, kid.”

“Hopefully, you’ll be the first to win a gold in the Olympics one day.”

“That is why you’re a champion, kid. You could make it happen all by yourself.”

“The traits of someone who is bound to be a champion – not relying on anyone but yourself.”

“Bring along your tripod next time, kid. Just show to everyone that we can still make it, even when we’re alone.”
