Abiding by the Covid-19 pandemic, everyone across the globe is advised to wear a mask for their own safety. However, one of the problems this has caused is people not knowing how to dispose of their masks correctly.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, a tourist in Beijing, China was seen feeding a mask to a deer during a visit to the Beijing Zoo a few days ago.
In the video, you can see the person feeding the deer a mask when the deer placed its head into the car. Even after the staff stopped her, she continued to feed the mask to the deer.
Thankfully, a staff came in time and pulled the mask out of the deer’s mouth and signalled the driver to leave. If not, there’s a strong possibility that the deer would go into surgery.
The customer service staff from the zoo responded yesterday (August 31) that it’s still unknown whether the driver did it deliberately and the staff who handled it also is unsure.
If you’re wearing a mask, GREAT, but your responsibility doesn’t end there! It extends to disposing of it properly and obviously, not feeding it to innocent animals. The last thing we need now is more selfish people.
