Almost every Malaysian loves a good bargain and whenever we spot a chance to save money, you can bet that we’ll jump at it. Especially during any sales!
Here’s the thing though, even when we encounter an awesome bargain, do remember that we are civilised human beings and act like one!
A Facebook user recently shared a video that depicted the madness at a Victoria’s Secret (VS) sale which reportedly happened at the branch in Imago The Mall at Kota Kinabalu’s Times Square. Apparently, VS was having a super cheap sale and April 1 was their last day for that promo.
As expected, everyone was rushing to get their hands on some of the new fragrance mist launched recently. According to their Facebook page, their Fresh Escape Mist collection was selling at RM79 per bottle with a buy two free one promotion.
On March 31, they announced that this collection would instead be sold at RM29 each and people FLOODED the store to get their hands on the fragrances. That’s a huge discount! In Imago The Mall, the staff at the VS outlet there had their hands full trying to control the crowd that even a security guard was called to help.
The 27-second video showed the crowds pushing their way in the shop as staff desperately tried to close the shutters to keep the people in line. In the midst of all the pushing and shoving to get their way in, some loud screaming were heard and a girl dressed in black was spotted shouting at the crowd inside the store.
It is unclear whether she is a staff or customer who is yelling but it looks like she is scolding the people behind her for pushing her. The video was shared more than 7,100 times in less than four hours and netizens criticised the behaviour of the crowd. They pointed out the embarrassing actions of these Malaysians and that these people should be more considerate.
