Recently, a video showing two women jumping off a building, allegedly at Genting Highlands, was circulated on the internet and went viral. However, the police have confirmed yesterday that there were no such case that took place in Genting Highlands recently.
In the horrifying 29-second video clipped, the footage shows a woman attempting suicide by jumping off a building. Another body was also seen lying on the ground – she probably jumped first before the other woman did too. This disturbing video was all over social media and got Malaysians worked up as the person who posted the video claimed that the two women decided to take their life by committing suicide at Genting Highlands after being fired from their jobs.
According to Bernama, all rumours have been put to rest when Bentong district deputy police chief DSP Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman made a statement saying that the video which went viral is believed to have taken place overseas back in 2017.
He explained that the two women were actually sisters who lived abroad. It is believed that the pair reportedly suffered depression for a few years prior to the unfortunate incident. A couple of commentators also suggested that this took place in Indonesia.
