It’s no secret that vapes are not meant for children. So, why would anyone give their child a vape?
The Inforoadblock Facebook page recently shared a video of a toddler being given a vape which she takes a hit from. The incident is believed to have taken place in Sabah.
In the caption, they wrote, “A viral video of a child that is a year old or more, being given a smoking pod (electronic cigarette) by her parent (it is not confirmed whether the person giving her the vape is indeed her parent).”
In the video, the little girl can be seen taking in the vape which was handed to her by an adult, before blowing it out through her nose.
What’s worse is that the adult even seemed proud that the toddler even knew how to do that, and captioned the video with, “through the nose”.
Why are vapes dangerous for children?
Based on a report by Kids Health, vaping puts nicotine into the body, which can be highly addictive.
In children, it slows brain development and can affect memory, concentration, learning, self-control, attention and mood.
Allowing children to use e-cigarettes may lead to irritation in the lungs, serious lung damage and even death.
It’ll eventually also increase the risk of other types of addiction as they grow.
With that being said, we genuinely hope that the authorities take action against whoever gave the little girl the vape and for teaching her such bad habits at such a young age.
