The homeless living in KL come from all walks of life, and many of them have been dealt with unfortunate circumstances.
For 1 girl, a lucky encounter with Ustaz Ebit Lew gave her some sense of security of not having to sleep on the street after a series of unfortunate events.
Ustaz Ebit Lew took to his Facebook page to share how he discovered Darakalwati sleeping on a sidewalk following a robbery and disturbances from others.
He wrote, “It was a late night of distributing food when I found Darakalwati sleeping in front of a bank in KL. When I arrived, I woke her up to pass her some food and to ask her why she was there.”
“She cried as she showed me the report of how she was robbed 2 months ago. Now she’s sleeping on the road. She has no one in her life.”
Darakalwati was previously renting a room but trouble found it’s way to her.
“Before this, she rented a room. She was stunned as many people bothered her. Many things happened. She doesn’t even own a piece of clothing. It’s sad to see this sister. I can’t imagine living like this,” he added.
So he did what he knew he needed to do.
“I rented a room near KL. When we arrived at the room, Darakalwati cried loudly. She said God answered her prayers.”
She had told the Ustaz that she wouldn’t have been able to afford the rent and thanked him for helping her.
“No matter what, a woman should not have to sleep by the side of the road. I hope she is happy and that her burdens are eased,” he shared.
We’re so happy that Darakalwati has a safe space thanks to Ustaz Ebit Lew’s help!
