Most of us have probably had a very patriotic Independence Day on 31 August but there is still another public holiday which is Malaysia Day on 16 September!
So if you do not have anything planned for that day (or this weekend) but you’re not looking to spend any money, then we have a suggestion for you!
In conjunction with its 60th anniversary, the national museum is making the entrance fees free to all Malaysians on selected days which are 2, 3 and 16 September. According to the Facebook page, this effort is in collaboration with the National Unity Ministry.
They also mentioned that the tickets can be redeemed at the National Museum’s counter. On other days, the entrance fees are set at RM2 for Malaysian adults, RM1 for senior citizens and disabled people and free for children below the age of 12.
This is certainly a good chance to go and learn more about the history of our country through the artefacts and the stories they tell. Furthermore, Museum Negara is easily reachable via the MRT as well so you wouldn’t even need to worry about parking.
There are also many activities planned so be sure to follow the national museum to be informed.
