A group from UMNO was allegedly disallowed from delivering care packages to flood victims in Kelantan, apparently due to them donning clothing with UMNO logos.
UMNO Youth Division Information Chief, Wan Mahussin Wan Zain, took to his Facebook page to showcase how he and his team were told to take their care packages out of a flood relief centre (PPS) by an alleged PAS personnel, simply because they were wearing shirts with UMNO logos.
He wrote, “We were stopped because of our party logo (being visible). We were not going there to lecture, it was not a school, it’s an evacuation centre.”
“The aid is from UMNO. Are we supposed to put a PAS logo?”
In a video showcased, the alleged PAS personnel could be seen telling the group from UMNO to take their care packages out of the PPS due to the political party logo on their shirts.
“It’s not that (the flood victims) can’t accept (the care packages), but if it’s possible, take (the care packages) outside. If there’s no (political) party logo, it’s fine. UMNO Youth is a (political) party,” the personnel said.
He went on to say that he’s worried that people will take pictures, which will showcase UMNO’s logo in an obvious manner.
“I’m worried people will see (the logo). I’m worried people will make it viral.”
One can, another cannot?
In another post, Wan Mahussin shared various posts from PAS personnel visiting and distributing aid to flood relief centres while wearing clothing with the PAS logo.
He wrote, “(These are) among the PAS logos entering PPS. But we cannot.”
WORLD OF BUZZ has since reached out to Wan Mahussin for comment but has yet to hear back.
