Back in 2019, a Universiti Malaya (UM) graduate, who was also the leader of a youth party on campus, made headlines for conducting a solo protest on stage during his convocation, where he called for the now-former Vice-Chancellor (VC) to step down from his position due to various reasons.

Well, following the incident, the now 27-year-old Wong Yan Ke faced backlash from the general public, who called for his Degree to be retracted. He was also facing charges in court, which has finally come to a conclusion.

Taking to their TikTok page, Bernama TV shared that Wong was found guilty of provocation and was given a fine of RM5,000.

They wrote, “Universiti Malaya (UM) graduate Wong Yan Ke was fined RM5,000 by the KL Magistrate’s Court after being found guilty of provoking the anger of former UM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Hashim, and guests during the 59th UM Convocation Ceremony, 4 years ago.”

According to a report by Harian Metro, Wong can be imprisoned for 3 months on top of the fine, should he fail to pay.
