Two employees from Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) at Menara TM ONE Damansara, KL and at the Kepayan office in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah have tested positive for Covid-19.

According to TM, the two staff are currently undergoing quarantine and receiving treatment at government quarantine and medical facilitites, reported Harian Metro.

TM added that they are taking proactive steps to curb the spread of the virus and to ensure the safety of their customers, staff and the public.

“At TM ONE Tower, all occupants were asked to immediately leave the premise and the building which is closed for seven days for disinfection and sanitation,” they said in a statement.

“TM’s offices in Sabah, Kedah and other red zone areas were closed earlier as a proactive precautionary measure following the recent increase in cases.”

As of now, detailed contact tracing is being carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) with the assistance of TM’s Covid-19 Crisis Response Team.

“The identified close contacts were contacted by the MOH for further advice and action,” TM said.

“The management team and all TM members together pray that both will recover quickly and recover as usual.”

In ensuring continued services to customers, TM employees at the affected states and areas have reverted back to work-from-home arrangements utilising digital channels and online productivity tools.

Meanwhile, critical function employees (contact centre, field teams for service installation and restoration) will continue working in compliance with government and TM’s added safety protocols and guidelines.

“TM would like to remind everyone at all times to keep safe social distance, hygiene and adhere to the standard operating procedures as advised by the government. TM has taken and will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of our customers, employees, and community,” TM added.
