Don’t get us wrong, we love ourselves a good latte every now and then, but we can get a little jelak from having one too many, not to mention how they can get a little expensive at some places. Plus, sometimes, many of us just crave a simple, strong cup of local coffee at a regular good ol’ kopitiam.

Located along Lorong Panggung, How Kow is one of the veteran kopitiams in the city that has been running for the past 60 years. With a kopitiam that has seen generations of loyal customers, you can rest assured that this is one place that serves one of the best cups of coffee in KL!

2. Hiap Hing, Batu Caves

Besides delicious kaya toast and char siew pau, Hiap Hing serves a mean cup of coffee made from powder produced in-house! Nothing beats a simple, strong cup of coffee, and Hiap Hing is definitely the place you should visit for a no-frills, authentic Malaysian coffee experience.

3. Thong Kee Cafe, Sea Park

If you’re familiar with PJ, you’ve definitely tried Thong Kee Cafe at least once. Filled with hundreds of regular visitors, Thong Kee serves some of the best coffee in the Klang Valley that you definitely should try for yourself.

4. Yut Kee, Chow Kit

While Yut Kee is famous for its delicious roti babi and Hainanese pork chop, its coffee is definitely a hit among both locals and foreigners too!

5. Ah Weng Koh, Pudu

While this particular joint is famous for its wantan mee, Toong Kwoon Chye in Jalan Bukit Bintang definitely has some of the best kopitiam-style coffee in KL, hands down!

7. Chong Kok, Klang
