A time for self-care is always necessary, especially if you’ve been through a stressful period and just need to unwind. And while humans naturally find it tough to incorporate such leisurely activities into their free time, who would have guessed that we could learn a thing or two from animals instead.
Acting as a rescue and rehabilitation centre for animals in Thailand, the Wildlife Friends Foundation (WFFT) is no stranger to posting clips of the creatures they care for to their TikTok page @wildlife_friends_wfft. However, one particular tiger is stealing the show in a recent video, displaying just how important relaxing and unwinding is to him.
In the video, WFFT caught a moment of their tiger named Maruay, bobbing in the water of a lake within their sanctuary with his favourite red ball. In complete peace and tranquillity, Maruay glides across the water with ease. At certain points, the creature readjusts his position to place his head squarely on the ball, allowing himself to float gently for as long as he pleased.
The caption of the post revealed that Maruay is actually a rescued tiger. According to the wildlife centre, Maruay has been free for about 18 months now, after having been cooped up in a small cage on concrete floor when he was found.
“Isn’t it incredible, the life-changing difference your kindness makes to the world?” read the caption of the post.
Warming hearts across the platform, many people were eclipsed by Maruay’s comfort and serenity in the video, saying that his peace was something they’d aspire to achieve themselves.
“Ah, to be one of the predators of the jungle just chilling with his favourite ball,” light-heartedly wrote one user.
On the other hand, multiple others couldn’t help but make comedic jokes in relation to the animal, with one user saying that he was “unleashing his inner tiger”.
“This is seven-year-old me in the pool with my floaties,” joked another user.
