Thousands have taken to the streets of Sabah, demanding justice for 13-year-old student Zara Qairina Mahathir following her death, reportedly after falling from the third floor of her school dormitory.
Believing her death was linked to bullying, crowds in Sandakan and Tawau gathered to express solidarity and sympathy for Zara Qairina.

In Sandakan, participants carried banners, read poems, and offered prayers for Zara Qairina.
“We only want the truth from the authorities and justice for Zara Qairina. That is our focus tonight.”
In Tawau, many were seen wearing black and chanting “Justice for Zara” and “Stop Bullying.”
More gatherings have been planned in other districts, including Sipitang, Papar, Ranau, Kundasang, Telupid, Kudat, and Keningau.

Earlier on Friday, the Attorney General’s Chambers announced the exhumation of Zara Qairina’s grave for a second post-mortem.
