You can cry tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of fright, but have you ever cried tears of… crystal?
No, not Kim Kardashian. In a story reported by Kwong Wah Daily, a woman living in Armenia is reportedly crying tears of ‘crystal’ from her eyes. Hold on a sec, what?
22-year-old Satenik Karazian, was said to have been suffering from an excruciating condition where she could only weep a ‘crystal-like’ discharge from her eyes instead of tears. When it first happened, she didn’t think too much of it as she had assumed it was merely a fleck of dust in her eyes.
Her family then suspected it to have been shards of glass that might have somehow found their way on her cheeks. In fact, her condition has worsened so much, she can reportedly produce up to 50 of these ‘crystal-like’ beads in a day.
Satenik says “Now my every day has turned to hell.”
Unfortunately, doctors who have inspected her condition have either refused to believe her, or only prescribed mild antibiotics and eyedrops, which do nothing to help her condition. Armenia’s Ministry of Health has since been contacted about her condition, and has sent samples of the ‘crystals’ for analysis.
A Russian ophthalmologist speculates that the condition may be attributed to an excessive build-up of salt in her tears.
Either way, we definitely hope that Satenik will be able to find a remedy to her condition as soon as possible!
