Recently, DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook shared his hopes that the government will move forward with the constitutional amendment to limit the Prime Minister’s term to 10 years.
He also assured that the idea isn’t about asking Anwar to step down but about making the amendment part of his lasting legacy.

“Putting DAP’s proposal above Allah’s command”
Following this, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang took to Facebook to slam DAP’s proposal and share his concerns.
In his post, he wrote,
“When DAP suggested a 10-year limit for the Prime Minister’s term, a lot of people quickly backed the idea. But it seems like they’ve either forgotten, don’t know, or just don’t care about the bigger picture—where Islam is meant to lead the nation, as guided by Allah, for both success in this world and the afterlife.”
He went on to accuse DAP of trying to push Islam to the sidelines and continuing colonial-era policies.
He also took a jab at former PAS members who now side with DAP, saying they either refuse to take a stand or stay silent about wrongdoing, which he claims brings Allah’s wrath.
“For those who left PAS and now support DAP, they either stay quiet about the Islamic struggle, take the weakest stance against wrongdoing, or willingly hide the truth about Islam—earning God’s wrath in the process.”

“Malaysia belongs to Malay Muslims”
Hadi added that only qualified Muslims should be in charge of leading the community.
“Malaysia belongs to Malay Muslims, and it must be defended. PAS is open to working with non-Muslims, but only those who aren’t extreme and respect Islamic leadership in the country. This land originally belonged to Muslims before colonial forces took over.”
He ended his statement by warning that DAP is trying to gain power by weakening Islam’s position and the Malay identity tied to it.
