Nasi Lemak? For free? Say no more.
A famous nasi lemak stall in Sarawak is making its debut in Shah Alam by giving out 600 packets of nasi lemak for free all week!
The stall, known as Nasi Lemak Jambatan Tamparuli, initially went viral after posting a series of pictures documenting an adorable doggo patiently waiting in line for his turn to purchase fried chicken.
But the doggo isn’t the only one who loves this stall’s fried chicken. Nasi Lemak Jambatan Tamparuli used to be greeted with long lines of faithful customers in Sarawak who kept coming back for their delicious daily fix.
100 packets of free nasi lemak for 6 days!
Fortunately, now Shah Alam residents will be able to try it out too for free! In the Facebook post, the owners of the stall said, “in conjunction with the first week of our stall’s operations, we want to extend our welcome to Shah Alam residents by giving out free nasi lemak.”
The stall will be giving out as many as 100 nasi lemak packets a day starting 2 February to 7 February. However, the free packets will only be distributed on a first come first serve basis at their location in Jalan Ibus 18/40 Seksyen 18, Shah Alam.
The owner added that they will only be serving normal nasi lemak, nasi lemak with egg and nasi lemak with fried chicken during their first week of operations as all his stall’s equipment is still on the way from Sarawak. “Hopefully, all the side dishes will be ready to serve next week.”
Moving to support his wife
The Nasi Lemak Jambatan Tamparuli (NLJT) owner who initially started his business in 2016 at Samarahan, Sarawak decided to move to Selangor when his wife received a job offer as he did not want to be apart from her.
“Just as the business started growing, we had to change plans and follow God’s path. It’s difficult for a husband and wife to be away from each other,” said the stall owner in an earlier post. The owner added that his wife deserves full credit for the start of NLJT. “#NLJT isn’t my business, it’s my wife’s. I don’t have the ability, I’m not good at cooking and I’m not that business savvy when it comes to managing the finances of the stall.”
“She’s the one who makes me a businessman. She never gave up and tried to build my discipline by teaching me how to cook until I became skilled. She always supported me, even when I was in trouble. She advised me to maintain the good quality of my business.”
Hence, when his wife announced that she received a job offer that required her to move to Shah Alam, he did not hesitate to move with her. He thanked his loyal customers for their unending support of his business over the years and hopes this new chapter will be promising.
