A Malaysian man’s rant criticising ‘selfish’ parents for bringing twin strollers into lift at a Kuala Lumpur mall has earned him the ire of netizens.
Going viral on X, a screenshot of the man’s rant was reposted on the platform by X user @hanisyezu who called out his ignorance and selfishness for not wanting to give priority to parents with children at the mall.
In the screenshot, the man criticised parents for bringing twin strollers to the mall and how they allegedly always try to squeeze the twin strollers into the lift even though it’s full.
The man asserted,
“They (parents) are so persistent to try and squeeze into a full lift that they asked others to step out of the lift. They’re also the most ‘awesome’ parents who don’t know how to carry the baby as if they’ll die without your stupid twin strollers”
“Good lord this kind of person is so selfish and always wants to prioritise their genuine stupidity,”
As of the time of writing, the post has garnered over 3,100 reposts and more than 2,600 likes, with many Malaysians calling him out instead for the rant as he is clearly in the wrong.
In the X post itself, @hanisyezu asserted,
“If you’re not disabled then take the escalator. Don’t go scrambling to get into the lift with parents with twin strollers. The priority for lifts is the differently-abled, pregnant women, and parents with strollers and babies. You’re the one who’s selfish.”
In the replies, many Malaysians joined in to criticise the man, with one person even showing a photo from inside the mall’s lift which clearly showed that parents are among those given priority to use the lift.
Moreover, one person pointed out that escalators have metal rods blocking the usage of strollers on them as it could be hazardous. Hence, that’s why parents with strollers are prioritised at lifts.
Besides that, one commenter sarcastically said that he’s still dumbfounded how a physically fit human being such as the man who was ranting wanted to take the lift in the first place.
