With recent reports indicating a worrying downturn in the state of the country’s economy due to the pandemic, those who are fortunate enough to have jobs should be grateful that they are still employed. But what if your job no longer challenges you to grow?

Recently, a netizen took to the Facebook page, RicebowlMY to share how he just started a new job as an admin in a company that is paying him a monthly income of RM1,600. However, all of the tasks assigned to him are too easy and he doesn’t feel challenged at work.

“I don’t have anything to do most of the time. I’m only busy in the morning for about two hours but the rest of the time, I’m doing nothing. Occasionally, on the first few days of the month, I get busy,” he said in the post.

He continued to share that the rest of the employees are the same and they just play with their phones to pass the time. “Sometimes I think to myself and wonder if this is how I will live for the rest of my life. I’m just on my phone waiting to get off work. The only thing I look forward to is when I can order lunch delivery during work hours,” he added.

The post garnered many reactions from netizens who gave various responses to the man’s plight. Some said they were jealous that he could find such a job in these hard times. Others advised him against leaving the company as he can still learn other skills or take on a part-time job while maintaining the salary from his existing work.

However, a couple of other netizens said he should leave his job if he feels like he’s not learning anything from the company. There were even a few who said they could relate to his feelings of stagnant growth.

What do you guys think? Would you leave your job during a pandemic if you feel like you’re not growing?
