In the comments section, netizens shared their similar experiences.

“I have the same experience. There was this Uncle Mamak from a Mesra Maju GM branch, who was relocated to their KL branch. He asked for my dad’s Facebook just so they could keep in touch.”

“My kid has loads of these so-called Uncle Mamaks. I don’t mind them looking after him because I know they, too, must miss their kids back home. Plus, my wife and I can eat peacefully,” said a user.

Another commented, “My kid befriended a barber Mamak. Before this he refused to get his hair cut, now it is a whole different story.”

Of all the comments shared, this one best described this friendship, we felt.

“It is true when they say children are pure and innocent souls. They know no religion or the colour of your skin, just love.”

Isn’t that nice?
