We’re only humans and we’re bound to make mistakes, but that’s how we learn, right? However, in some circumstances, some blunders might just be too severe, at the cost of one’s anger and dissatisfaction.
In a viral Facebook post by Izham Nayan, the Malaysian man shared what happened to his friend after a shocking blunder by a food delivery rider.
The rider accidentally sent non-halal food (pork rice) to a Muslim family, and the kids had taken a few bites!
What did the family order?
According to the post, Izham’s friend ordered 4 portions of braised beef noodles and some dumplings from a Chinese Muslim restaurant in Kajang. The friend paid over RM100 for the food only to receive something the family cannot eat.
Before his friend noticed the food, she was busy handling an online class and was a little occupied to monitor her kids, who collected the food from the delivery rider. She was shocked after finding out her kids had taken a few bites of the pork rice.
If you often order in, you’ll likely notice the receipts that are often clipped outside the plastic. However, Izham said that in this case, the receipt was found inside the packaging, below the food packs.
In the comment section, Izham pointed out that her friend might take legal action against the matter.
What happens if a Muslim accidentally consumes pork or anything that is rendered non-Halal?
According to Penang Mufti, it is not a sin if non-Halal food is NOT eaten on purpose, and if the person stops immediately after knowing about the status of the food.
With the enriched cultures and faiths in Malaysia, we should all be careful when handling any matters that might be sensitive in some cultures.
