On April 8, 61-year-old Malaysian man Yee Boon Long carried out an armed robbery at a gold shop in Hatyai, Songkhla, stealing gold worth around THB7 million (RM909,500).
In response, the Royal Thai Police announced a reward of up to THB100,000 (RM13,000) for any information leading to his capture.

He used multiple identities to avoid being found
In a recent update, Thai police arrested a suspected gold shop robber, believed to be Malaysian, at 6:30 AM local time in Nonthaburi yesterday (April 9), as reported by BERNAMA.
Col. Pol. Anusorn Thongsaid, acting chief of the 6th Police Investigation Division, shared that the suspect had fled back to Bangkok and was caught while heading to his son’s house in Nonthaburi.
Anusorn also mentioned that the suspect had been using different identities to avoid being found.

Police arrested him with the gold as evidence
The investigation revealed that he took a bus from Hat Yai to Mochit bus station in Bangkok, and then tried to grab a taxi to his son’s place.
“Police managed to arrest him, seizing the gold, a pistol, and some live bullets,” he said.
The suspect is now in custody and will face legal action.

He killed 10 people in M’sia before fleeing to Thailand
Kwong Wah reported that the suspect is actually a professional killer who has killed at least 10 people in Malaysia. He also pulled off a gold shop robbery in Butterworth, Penang about 20 years ago.
Thai media said he’s been living off crime for a long time and ran off to Thailand around 10 years back.
He also shot and killed 2 Thai brothers in Gaoyao District on November 22, 2014. He pulled off a similar robbery in 2017 and was arrested in Songkhla that same year.
