We’ve heard so many stories of teachers going out of their way to support their students, and we aren’t going to stop hearing them anytime soon either!
Just last week, yet another post went viral on Facebook highlighting the efforts teachers are willing to make in order to ensure their students are learning during this troubling time.
In his Facebook post, Wan Ridhuan Muhammad shared about how his wife, Noor Aniza Che Soh, a teacher from Terrengannu, had visited 38 of her students’ houses despite the bad weather.
“A teacher’s heart is broken. Thinking about it every day, do these kids study at home? Worried that SPM students didn’t learn during PKPB. Worried that students will forget what they have been taught once school reopens,” Wan Ridhuan Muhammad wrote.
“Even as it rains, so be it. So long as the heart’s goals are achieved.”
In an article by mStar, Wan Ridhuan explained that he and Noor Aniza spent up to four hours delivering printed modules for 38 students, travelling as far as 21 kilometres from their house despite the heavy rain.
“A lot of my wife’s students have trouble with their internet, and some are unable to occupy online learning. Worried about her students, she then decided to visit all of them to hand them their modules instead,” he says.
We thank you Noor Aniza for your service!
But while we’re happy that teachers all over Malaysia are doing their best to provide for their students, but there must be a way to help students while also not needing teachers to suffer in the process. What do you think?
